This message is the first of a seven week series from the gospel of Luke entitled, “Luke: A Story of Jesus.” The first week is “Who is This Jesus?” It covers a brief introduction of the gospel of Luke but then picks up with the start of Jesus’ public ministry from Luke 4:1 - 6:11.
In this message we discover the subversive and revolutionary ways of Jesus to overthrow and cast aside all assumptions, categorization, and religious acceptabilities of his day to bring genuine good news to everyone who thinks they have been forgotten by God.
If culture and the church can overcome our inoculation to the story of Jesus, we would find a radical Jesus interested in changing the world and doing so through the most unlikely of suspects.
This message was preached on February 22, 2009 at the Living Stones Church in South Bend by Sam Barrington.
